The Butterfly Ball Monaco 2024: A Night of Glamour and Giving

At Caudwell Children, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to unlock their true potential regardless of disability or autism. On the 9th October, we hosted our 2024 Butterfly Ball Monaco, a dazzling evening of elegance, generosity, and compassion, all in support of disabled and autistic children.

This year’s event was record-breaking, raising over a staggering €1.6 million!

Record-Breaking Fundraising

Thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors Burgess Yachts, Wider Yachts, and Monaco’s prestigious real estate agency Lorenza Von Stein, the 2024 Butterfly Ball Monaco raised an astounding €1,621,400. Every euro from this generous total will go directly towards providing life-changing support to disabled and autistic children. This milestone enables us to enhance our services and continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of families who need it most.

Our Mission to Support Disabled and Autistic Children

At Caudwell Children, we are committed to building a more inclusive world for children and young people aged 0-24. Our mission is to break down the barriers that disabled and autistic children face by providing practical, emotional, and clinical support. From comprehensive autism assessments by our multi-disciplinary team to equipment and therapy, we ensure that children and their families receive the help they need to thrive.

The Glamour of Giving: Highlights from the Butterfly Ball

The Butterfly Ball Monaco is renowned not only for its stunning setting but for the heartwarming generosity it inspires. Organised by Modesta Vžesniauskaitė, partner of our founder John Caudwell, and supported by our dedicated Monaco committee and Caudwell Children’s Event Team, the evening brought together philanthropists, business leaders, and supporters from around the world.

Reflecting on the evening, Modesta shared:
“The Butterfly Ball Monaco is truly a highlight of the year for me. It’s not just about the glamour and the setting, but about the incredible generosity and passion from everyone involved.”

John Caudwell echoed this sentiment:
“The Butterfly Ball Monaco is a truly remarkable evening, combining elegance with an important purpose. The funds raised make a real, life-changing impact on disabled and autistic children, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.”

Inspiring Stories: How We Make a Difference

Co-hosted by Ben Sutcliffe, Caudwell Children’s Director of Executive Projects, and Ella Wilkes, whose brother Jacob is a beneficiary of our charity, the Butterfly Ball was a deeply personal event. Ella shared her family’s story and how Caudwell Children’s support has been transformative for her brother.
“Jacob is so much more than his diagnoses. He brings light into our lives every day. The generosity shown at The Butterfly Ball makes an enormous difference.”

Hearing first-hand accounts of how Caudwell Children has impacted lives is always emotional, and this year’s event was no different. We are continually reminded of the importance of our work, and we remain driven by the knowledge that our supporters help make this transformation possible.

Unforgettable Entertainment and Luxury Auction

The Butterfly Ball Monaco delivered an unforgettable experience, with guests enjoying a gourmet 3-course meal and world-class entertainment. Highlights included performances by the electrifying Symphoniacs, the graceful Baltic Ballet Theatre, and vocalist Kiki.

The night’s famed live auction, led by renowned auctioneer Charlie Ross, featured luxury Superyacht experiences and one-of-a-kind art pieces, all of which helped contribute to our incredible fundraising total. Among the standout moments was our equipment pledge, which raised €250,000, and our autism pledge, which secured €80,000—both crucial to ensuring that we can continue providing vital resources and support.

Looking Ahead

This year’s Butterfly Ball Monaco was not just an evening of glamour and entertainment—it was a powerful demonstration of kindness, passion, and commitment to improving the lives of disabled and autistic children. As Will Pepper, our Head of Events, reflected:
“It was amazing to see The Butterfly Ball Monaco come to life. The evening was unforgettable, filled with philanthropy and opulence within the beautiful Hotel de Paris.”

Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, Caudwell Children can continue expanding our services, advocating for policy change, and breaking down the stigma surrounding disability. Together, we are building a brighter, more inclusive future for every child.

We are grateful to everyone who attended, supported, and contributed to making the 2024 Butterfly Ball Monaco an outstanding success. Their kindness will leave a lasting impact on children and their families, empowering them to overcome obstacles.
