With support from benefactors and fundraiser likes yourself, we can continue providing lifechanging support. Whether it’s funding for a wheelchair, access to an autism assessment, advice workshops or learning and development programmes for teenagers and young adults, the funds you raise will help Caudwell Children provide essential support and services, empowering disabled and autistic children to thrive and reach their full potential.
You can do just one, or do as many as you like! You can event have a go at completing all 25!
We recommend you take a look at the following guidelines and websites to ensure your challenge or fundraiser is safe and legal;

- If your challenges involves food, it’s extremely important to follow the rules for the safe handling of food. There are some basic guidelines you can follow for the safe preparation, storage, and cooking of food. It is also good practice to label food for the benefit of allergy sufferers and people with specific dietary requirements. Food safety guidelines can be found on the following websites.

- Food Standards Scotland
- Food Safety Authority of Ireland for the Republic of Ireland
- Food Information Regulations on the Isle of Man Government website.

- It’s important to write a risk assessment for your event in order to:
- identify any hazards
- put in place control measures to reduce and manage the risk to anyone working on, taking part in or attending the event.
Completing a risk assessment is best practice for anyone organising an event. The form will demonstrate that you’ve put thought into any risks associated with your activity and done everything that you can to make the event as safe as possible should an incident take place. For guidance on how to complete a risk assessment, visit one of the following websites:
- Health and Safety Executive for the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man
- Health and Safety Authority for the Republic of Ireland.
Don’t forget to make sure that everyone involved with your event is aware of any potential risks and of any special requirements for taking part, such as fitness levels, training or specialist equipment needed.
Please note: Caudwell Children cannot accept responsibility for the safe conduct of your fundraising event activities or challenge. As the organiser, you must ensure that the necessary steps are taken to protect the health and safety of activity participants and spectators, including carrying out all necessary risk assessments, providing all necessary safety equipment and the supervision of participants and spectators. Caudwell Children reserves the right to refuse/advise against your fundraising event if we deem it to be too high risk, a potential risk to our reputation or against our core values.

If there are no costs associated with the challenge, this is up to you. However, if your challenge incurs set up costs, we would advise considering this when setting your fundraising target.

There are many ways to promote your challenge and fundraiser, some examples include;
- Be creative! It’s important to attract people’s attention, so think about how you can make your promotion stand out.
- Add details of your challenge/fundraiser to your social media channels like; Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Be sure to post regularly and ask friends and family to share your posts.
- Put posters up in local shops, pubs or supermarkets
- Word of mouth – tell all of your friends and family about your challenge or fundraiser and ask them to share it too
