Over the next few months, Caudwell Children will be celebrating all things Sport with our incredible new campaign “Summer of Sport” and we are delighted to introduce you to Erin!
Erin needed support with funding towards a custom-built racing wheelchair to help her progress in a sport that she loves. After talking to her friends and fellow racers, they recommended that she should contact Caudwell Children, as we had supported them in the past.
Not only did we help Erin’s mum set up a just giving page, but we coordinated closely with the chair manufacturer, so we could keep everyone updated.
Erin’s new racing chair reflects her personality as she was able to choose her own colours, black and pink but more importantly the chair boosts her speed, improving her racing skills dramatically.
Since receiving her new racing chair, Erin’s dreams have soared and has proudly represented England at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Switzerland.
Erin said “I would always recommend Caudwell Children to other families, especially those aspiring to do well in wheelchair racing. It was easy for me to continue to train knowing there was a charity out there supporting me to eventually achieve my long-term ambitions. I now feel Caudwell Children have really given me a chance in my racing career to date and I look forward to continuing to work with them as I process in my career.”
