Huge success for charity at first Butterfly Ball Portugal, raising €44,660 for children with a disability
With the success of last year’s Butterflies on the Lake, Caudwell Children transformed their 2023 Portugal event into the Butterfly Ball, which took place on Saturday 21st October.
Anyone who is familiar with Caudwell Children and their charity events will know that this elevation into Butterfly Ball status is monumental. The London and Monaco balls have raised millions and have helped to support over 78,500 children and their families over the last 23 years.
The Butterfly Ball has continued to grow in popularity, attracting numerous high-profile guests, philanthropists and celebrities, and this year’s Butterfly Ball Portugal sponsored by Neuven and Neuven Consult raised a life-changing €44,660 on the night which will help to support disabled and autistic children, providing them with vital equipment and services so they can grow up in a world where all disabled children and their families have choice, opportunity, dignity and understanding.
Neuven, Neuven Consult and CEO John Simmonds have supported Caudwell Children for the last two years.
For any business or organisation, recruiting and managing a workforce can be expensive and an unnecessary distraction from the central purpose of the business. Neuven and Neuven Consult are leading providers of support services, helping businesses save money and focus on growing sales and turnover.
Quinta do Lago nestled in the picturesque Algarve, was home to this year’s Butterfly Ball Portugal. The resort which is famous for world-class golf, award-winning real estate, sublime restaurants, boutique hotels and golden sand beaches, is a popular destination for celebrities and the wealthy. Casa Do Lago made the perfect venue with its stunning scenery and spectacular views of the lake.
Hosted by British TV and stage star Tom Lister, guests enjoyed an evening of entertainment from Tom Seals and Jack Tinker, fine dining and meaningful philanthropy.
Tom Lister has supported Caudwell Children for a number of years and is most recognised for his 10-year portrayal of Carl King in the British soap, Emmerdale. His other television credits extend to The Bay, Heartbeat, The Bill and Doctors. Tom also entertained guests with his rendition of “Feeling Good” as well as kick starting the fundraising action in the live auction.
Ben Sutcliffe Director of Executive projects at Caudwell Children said “I’m completely overwhelmed by the generosity shown at the Butterfly Ball Portugal.
“At Caudwell Children we provide autism assessments and occupational therapy assessments every day. Every day children are getting their childhood back. Getting the chance to be happy, care free and better equipped to manage the world around them.
“So, when guests make bids on our auction lots, it helps fund some of our services, people aren’t just buying a holiday, or a piece of art or even a wheelchair. They are giving a child the chance to get their childhood back. To live through those precious years of their lives in the way children are meant to.”
The next Butterfly Ball Portugal is taking place on Sunday 8th September 2024, there are table packages and individual tickets to choose from as well as sponsorship opportunities.
