How we can support your family

Caudwell Children understands how difficult it can be to find the right support and essential information you need to help your child, but getting help should never feel like a battle.

Our Family Support team can offer vital support to families caring for a child or young person with a disability. We can provide support via telephone, email or face to face to help you make informed choices and gain access to equipment, treatment, therapy, and local services you might need.

Family Support Autism Service

Our Family Support Autism Service offers emotional and practical support as part of Caudwell Children’s Diagnostic Service.

Our team provides support before, during and after Autism Assessments and we use a Family Centred Approach to help families think about the kind of support they will benefit from. We recognise and understand that every family is different, so support will be adapted to suit each individual situation.

The Family Support team can:

  • Answer any queries about your pre-assessment paperwork.
  • Support you at the Caudwell International Children’s Centre during your child’s assessment.
  • Accompany you during your feedback meeting.
  • Liaise with our Clinical Team for further guidance following your child’s assessment.
  • Signpost you to other services.
  • Carry our research to find out about strategies, rights and support services in your areas.

Our Family Services team are available to research services that families may struggle with finding the time to do. We are there to take the load off a little and provide relevant signposting information to support you on your journey.
