Multi-sensory Equipment FAQs
The sensory centre is beneficial for sensory input, self-regulation, self-led exploration and visual and tactile stimulation.
A Dark Den is an invaluable piece of equipment for children who can become overwhelmed. The Dark Den can be used to reduce sensory stimuli, providing a safe space for your child to regulate their emotions.
The space projector can help with visual stimulation and tracking, such as tracking the different patterns and colours. This aids visual development and focus. The calming movements and colours can also help soothe and decrease anxiety.
The Sensory Centre can help with visual development, focus and self-regulation. The centre can be used to be as stimulating or calming as required for your child, and can help a child with self-led exploration and sensory regulation.
An interactive 1-metre bubble tube with colourful fish, attached to a soft play plinth and acrylic mirrors (x2). Additionally, a fibre-optic side-glow which is an acrylic spray of fibres that change colour and are safe to handle. The Mixed Light Equipment encourages tactile and visual stimulation, tracking and decreasing of anxiety/soothing.
The Interactive Bubble Tube is useful for visual stimulation and tracking, for example tracking the movement of the bubbles and changing colours. A set of 12 colourful fish are included in the interactive bubble tube, the fish rise to the top and float back to the bottom. This also aids visual tracking, concentration and focus.
The UV Musical Tactile Panel is a colourful and visual panel filled with tactile items to explore. This pack may help those who usually avoid tactile input to engage as it is self-led and visually appealing. This can help to de-sensitise your child which can then aid in other activities such as self-care tasks.
