The charity’s 2022 Christmas campaign is called “We All Have A Different Christmas” and is launching on Sunday 20th November which coincides with World Children’s Day. “We All Have a Different Christmas” is based around families celebrating the festive season in their own unique way.
A questionnaire was sent out to families of autistic children and children with a disability asking them what Christmas is like for them.
The charity received an amazing response, one family said “We don’t wrap presents as the surprise is stressful for my child, if anyone does wrap the presents, we ask them what is inside and we will write what the present is on the paper. We don’t have a traditional Christmas dinner we allow our child to eat their favourite meal. We don’t wear smart clothes; we stick to comfortable and generally there is no pressure.”
Another family said: “My child loves everything about Christmas but can sometimes become too overwhelmed and then we need to go out for a drive to settle them down a bit.”
Caudwell Children’s Christmas sweatshirts, hoodies and t-shirts feature slogans representing a different personality trait during the festive season. The apparel comes in an array of colours and designs which were created by Caudwell Children’s talented in-house designers Emma Stanner and Sarah Turner.
The Design Team said: “We were really excited when we were asked to come up with some Christmas clothing designs. We both love Christmas and it was something neither of us had ever done for the charity before. Everyone loves buying and wearing festive jumpers so we thought why not buy a Christmas jumper while helping a child with a disability at the same time.”
The charity’s Christmas range is now available to buy and can be ordered using the Teespring website. You can choose from ten slogans which includes Sprout Lover, Turkey Burner and I Hate Christmas: Only Joking; each slogan has two different designs.
100% of the profit Caudwell Children makes from the sales will go directly towards transforming the lives of autistic children and children with a disability.
Trudi Beswick CEO of Caudwell Children said “This is a first for us as a charity and we are always speechless by the kindness shown during the Christmas period. I will be wearing my Caudwell Children jumper with pride around the office and I hope that everyone outside of Caudwell loves them as much as we do.”
Accompanying the Christmas apparel, Caudwell Children will be releasing their “We All Have A Different Christmas” advert on Tuesday 22nd November which will include some of the festive slogans.
