Making a difference through citizenship objectives and fundraising

Fundraising with Caudwell Children offers primary school pupils a meaningful way to achieve citizenship objectives while developing valuable skills such as kindness, teamwork, and understanding the needs of others. These activities empower children to support disabled and autistic children across the UK, building their confidence and making a real difference.

Discover inspiring ideas below and see how they align with KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4 citizenship objectives.

KS1 Objectives

That they belong to various groups and communities:

Plan a "Community Fundraising Day" where children team up in groups to contribute to a shared fundraising goal, such as collecting coins for a "Wear Something Purple Day" or a sponsored silence.

To identify and respect the differences and similarities between people:

Host a "Diversity Talent Show" where children celebrate differences through performances and raise funds for programs that support neurodivergent children.

To consider social and moral dilemmas that they come across in everyday life:

Introduce scenarios like, “If your friend couldn’t join a club because of their disability, how could you help?” Tie the discussion to how fundraising for Caudwell Children can break down barriers.

KS2 Objectives

To recognise and challenge stereotypes:

Run a "Myth-Busting Workshop" where students learn about common stereotypes faced by disabled children and fundraise through an art competition to celebrate inclusivity.

To develop relationships through work and play:

Organise an "Inclusive Games Day," where students engage in games that simulate disabilities (e.g., blindfolded activities) to foster understanding while raising funds.

To feel positive about themselves:

Create a "Fundraiser Achievement Diary" where students log their efforts, celebrate their progress, and reflect on their impact, boosting their confidence and sense of responsibility.
