As part of our Time to Shine campaign, we’re thrilled to introduce you to the amazing Cerys a bright, and brilliantly talented 11-year-old Irish dancer from County Antrim!
From the moment she put on her dancing shoes at just five years old, Cerys fell in love with Irish dancing. As a proud neurodivergent dancer, she hasn’t just learned the steps, she’s performed her way through every challenge with resilience and unstoppable determination.
Cerys is autistic, which means she sometimes faces challenges when it comes to learning routines or performing in front of big crowds. But that hasn’t stopped her!
One of Cerys’ proudest moments was getting her very first solo dress, a symbol of how far she’s come and how brightly she shines on stage. Cerys wanted to enter Caudwell Children’s Time to Shine competition to show the world that being autistic doesn’t stop you from following your dreams, anything is possible.
Cerys’ mum said “Cerys is neurodivergent, which means she’s part of a vibrant community. She’s showing the world that with passion and dedication, anything is possible when you follow your dreams.”
Does your disabled and/or neurodivergent child have a talent waiting to shine? If they’re aged 6-16, we’d love to feature them as part of our ‘Time to Shine’ campaign!
