Lily is a seven-year-old who loves music, Bluey and playing with her toy kitchen. She has down syndrome, a congenital heart defect (which required open heart surgery at just 10 weeks old), bilateral hearing loss, and is on the autism pathway.
Lily’s parents got in touch with Caudwell Children as she had outgrown her pushchair and needed a specialised buggy which was customised for Lily’s needs.
Michelle, Lily’s mum said “We live in a rural village, so getting out in a wheelchair was a struggle. Lily loves her new buggy and likes to have the hood down when she’s struggling with busy places. It also has a chest harness to keep her safely secured, as she has no danger awareness and will run off.
“We asked Caudwell Children to help fund Lily’s buggy because without their support, it would have been so expensive. They helped us with the application which was really easy and Lily’s buggy was delivered really quickly.”
