The person applying must be 24 years old or under when making the application. The whole application process must be completed before their 25th birthday.
The person applying must be living legally in the United Kingdom.
The person applying must have a chronic illness or disability.
The person applying will be considered for our support if they can demonstrate that either: You are in receipt of means-tested benefits OR your household income is no more than £60,000 excluding benefits. In both instances you will also need to declare that your savings do not exceed £16,000.
Caudwell Children Application Guidelines
All applications must be for an individual person and be made on our application form.
The person applying must have a chronic illness or disability.
We can provide support once every 12 months.
If the equipment you need costs less than £5,000 we can provide 70% of the cost.
If the equipment you need costs more than £5,000 we can provide 80% of the cost.
If you have received a large sum of money in compensation for medical negligence, because of your condition, we unfortunately cannot help you.
We will need a letter stating your condition from your doctor, hospital or clinic. We will ask you for this later.
We will need your sports coach to complete a supporting letter saying that you are competing and your aspirations for the future. We will ask you for this later.
Caudwell Children must order the equipment.
We cannot make payments to you or to a fundraising account.
We cannot pay you back if you have already bought the equipment.
We can only use suppliers who are registered with us.
We cannot make donations or payments to other charities, trusts or organisations.
Caudwell Children will look at all applications and decide if they can be supported. It will be affected by how much money the charity has available.
Caudwell Children reserves the right to decline support.
