To mark Caudwell Children’s 25th Anniversary, we’re celebrating and championing many forms of potential. Potential is different for everyone, and throughout 2025, we’ll be sharing stories that highlight what potential means to our beneficiaries, families and supporters.
Rachael, a talented wheelchair tennis player and former Caudwell Children beneficiary is now taking on the incredible challenge of competing in the London Marathon to support us. Rachael has shared her thoughts on potential and what it means to her.
What does Potential mean to you?
Potential means to me that you have skills and talent to be successful but I also think potential means that you have the ability to do something great and I think everybody has that ability.
Potential is something you can earn and develop through your life, it’s important that it’s cultivated and grown and that everybody has the opportunity to develop that potential to unlock their true strengths.
I think potential can act as an ember inside someone that eventually will grow into this fire of greatness and that you can actually do things like change the world. Changing the world can be, changing your home, changing your school, changing your community or even your country, but I think everyone has that potential no matter your disability.
Potential can act as a motivator, I think by understanding your potential, you could help to unlock strengths in others.
